Mark B. Oliver earned a Juris Doctorate from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in May 1983, and was admitted to practice law in Louisiana in 1983.
Mark is Of Counsel to Onebane Law Firm in its Energy Law Section. His practice focuses on title examination and rendering title opinions for drill site, division order, acquisition, and financing purposes; acquisition and divestiture of producing oil and gas properties; advice, negotiation, and preparation of agreements for all phases of oil and gas exploration and production operations – onshore and offshore, including operating agreements, production handling agreements, transportation agreements, and surface-use agreements.
Over the last forty years, Mark has practiced law with a focus on oil and gas with several well-known law firms, including Onebane Law Firm, and has worked as in-house counsel for several small to mid-sized E&P companies with operations ranging from the Haynesville and Permian Basin to deepwater Gulf of Mexico.
The son of a Humble Oil & Refining Company landman, Mark began his career running records in parish and county records offices in his teen years. During his college undergraduate studies, he worked as a field broker buying oil and gas leases.
